Ventura - Santa Maria

Reported by Homagni Baptista, Natabara Rollosson 97.0 mi

We were very grateful for the two complimentary rooms that the Vagabond Inn gave us. The boys thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub jacuzzi that helped soothe tired and sore muscles.

The Best Western Plus Inn of Ventura provided complimentary rooms for the girls team. The breakfast in particular was much appreciated.

Premananda Childs from Ojai and Arpan from New York, friends for 42 years, meet up in Ventura after not seeing each other in a while. Premananda helped to arrange our meeting with the Mayor this morning.

Ventura City Mayor Cheryl Heitmann received the team in front of the majestic City Hall which overlooks the city from the hill.

Arpan gave an overview of the Run and how it travels through California in particular. The Mayor told us about many of the environmental projects in the city, and the importance of volunteers to make many important things happen.

A spectacular view from City Hall to the Pacific Ocean.

Executive Assistant to the Mayor, Anne Simmons, offers her goodwill for peace.

Artwork by the founder of the Run, Sri Chinmoy, is offered as a gift to City Hall.

Into the hills north of Ventura.

Premananda joins us in this classic sports car on the hills toward his town of Ojai.

Jennifer and her sister Amber share the torch today as we make our way up the coast.

Two dynamic sisters spreading peace.

We ended our day at the stunning Victorian style home of our dear friends Jibitesh and Paripurnata.

They prepared an amazing spread of delicious food for us as they opened their entire house for us to eat and stay for the night.

The women's team enjoys the hospitality for which we are all so very grateful.

Please send us a message, we would LOVE to hear from you.
