Osoyoos - Rossland

Reported by Arpan DeAngelo 90.0 mi

At our campsite this morning we met two very nice people,Ian and Courtney, who are cycling across all of Canada.

The shadows are long early in the morning when we start our runs.

The women's team headed off into the traffic towards Grand Forks.

Along the way we meet very nice people who offer their wishes and goodwill for peace.

At a cafe in a town called Deadwood.

Shopping for a new R.V.

Kanala tries her hand at an old-fashioned loom.

There were some very scenic vistas along the way.

On our way we stopped in a cute little town of Carson.

Handmade bird houses relflect the craftsmanship of the people here.

Further down the road the team runs into the town of Christina Lake.

We were welcomed by Kelly Little, Supervisor of the Welcome Center.

Kelly holds the torch high as she offers her kind-hearted goodwill to our team.

Kelly then led us on a short peace walk to the Visitor's Center Cafe where they treated us to delicious smoothies.

In the Center is a 3-D floor painting that was fun for our photographers. Unfortunately, one of our runners fell off the train tressle.

Yatkara to the rescue.

In the Cafe we met some very interested and kind people.

It was back on the hilly highway for the men's team next.

Our great friend and Executive Director Salil hits the road.

The course today was quite busy with traffic.

Mahasatya is in good form.

Yatkara runs strongly.

Lots of trees and green hils surround us.

Beautiful rivers and lakes surrounded by mountains dotting the landscape.

In the evening we retire to a cozy camp called Trail RV Park and Campground.

Yatkara gets started on processing the photos for this report.

Out tents are set up between the trees.

A powerful and clear stream makes for a good setting for personal moments of peace and meditation.
