Stirling - Hahndorf

Reported by Grahak Cunningham 11.0 km

Our first stop was Bridgewater Primary. An amazing school already inspired with the message of peace. They were all prepared for a wonderful function on peace for the evening.

The Prime Minister and Deputy PM (as voted by the students) hold the certificate.

Cr Jan-Claire Wisdom the Deputy Mayor of Adelaide Hills was inspired to attend and gave a lovely speech.

Great smiles.

Next stop was Heathfield Primary.

Hahndorf Primary was our third school of the day. They were fantastic.

The childern read out their messages of peace and thoughts on what it means to them. It was very inspiring.

Here the children are tying their pledges and messages of peace to the peace tree they had artistically created.

A Russian Koala inspects an Australian Koala up close. He was dying to meet one and Hahndorf Primary had a visitor that day.

It was back to Bridgewater Primary for the evening. These young children are peace growers. A couple of children were inspired to make Sadako Peace Cranes. Soon more joined. A thousand were made. Other teachers were inspired. The choir learnt songs of peace. More were inspired. They made lamps for peace. Glowing with their peace messages. Marched together with large, beautiful crane lamps. It was a beautiful, soulful, peaceful and powerful ceremony showing that peace can spread from one to many!

Local elder Ivan holds the torch. He blessed us in a smoke ceremony.
