Ricardo Mota from Portugal offers the President a book of poetry written by his father, Armor Pires Mota. Ricardo's father is a Portuguese journalist and writer. It was written in 1999 and the title of the book is 'Wounded Land'. The poems are about freedom, peace and hope for the future. Three of the poems are inspired by Timor Leste, and all teh proceeds of the book went to Timor Leste schools.

After a very eventful day we had a lovely evening meal with our Timorese friends. We presented our dear sister Mana Dulce some gifts. As then-Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, she enthusiastically supported our last Peace Run in 2019. Currently Education Advisor to the President, Mana (which means sister) helped us enormously once again in our preparations for this visit.
Our women's team join with FIAR (FETO IHA ASAUN REAL, or Women in Real Action), a humanitarian group of Timorese women who are working very hard to serve the Timorese community. Angela (second from left) is from the Protocol office of the President, and was the main organizer of our event earlier at the Presidential Palace.
