A big thank you to Joe and his friends from the Lake City Athletic Club for hosting a talk about the Self-Transcendence 3100 Mile Race at their clubrooms. Both Harita and Grahak have run the race several times, so were grateful to have the opportunity to share the experience with fellow runners and Peace Lovers!

On our final day we were thrilled to take part in the local parkrun, a free 5km race hosted by volunteers that takes place all over the world on a Saturday morning. The community spirit is very tangible, and organisers were also kind enough to give a shout out to The Peace Run before the start of the race ;)

After the race we joined many of the runners and headed to Ciabatta Cafe for a delicious post run breakfast!

After an afternoon of taking in the spectacular surroundings, we all met at the Sri Chinmoy Dreamer of Peace Statue in Tongariro Domain. Long time Peace Run supporter and local caretaker of the statue, Lorraine, (pictured holding the torch), came to meet us and share her wishes and prayers for a more peaceful world.
