Indiana Dunes National Park, IN - Michigan City, IN

A picture-perfect morning at Indiana Dunes National Park, on the shores of the majestic Lake Michigan, welcomed us for our final day in the Chicago area.

The vegetation and bird song in some areas is said to closely resemble how the whole of the lake once looked when several different Native American Tribes lived around its shores. The name Michigan is derived from the Ojibwa Indian word mishigami, meaning "large lake".

Olivia and Harita ran the 3 Dunes challenge, climbing 3 "mountains" in 30 minutes! The tallest was this one, Mt Tom, at a staggering 192 feet, phew!
The dunes are a historical marker of changing lake levels. Lake Michigan was formed about 14,000 years ago at the end of the last Glacial Period, and since this time the lake level has dropped drastically, enabling these incredible dunes to exist.

We were invited to share the torch with peace lovers at the Michigan City Food Truck Festival. A big thank you to the super enthusiastic and kind organiser and DJ, Alex Blackshire, pictured holding the certificate, and his photographer friend.

Enjoy the smiles on the faces of the many people we met on this beautiful day!

This young chap is looking at the card we gave him earlier ;)

Thank you again Alex! And biggest thank you to our indomitable local Chicago Coordinator, Sukantika, pictured on the right, for tirelessly spearheading our week of events. She is a true Warrior for Peace on Earth!
This was the perfect end to an incredible week of inspiration and oneness-home peace in and around Chicago.

Goodbye Lake Michigan! Oliveria is taking a handful of ancient lakeshore memories to treasure.

Peace Is the vision-dream-choice Of modern noons.
