The North

Reported by Sadanand Magee 1.0 km

Today we will spend the day in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Good morning Belfast!

Sadanand meets a friend on the way into our school visit.

Let the adventure begin!

Our school visit today is to Gilnahirk Primary School.

Robert from Hungary in action!

We present the school with a certificate of appreciation and an artwork entitled 'World Harmony'.

Sharing peace with the world.

The Peace torch is passed to each student.

Best friends!

The children bid us farewell.

Our next stop is Belfast City Hall for a reception with the Lord Mayor, Cllr. Christina Black.

The City Hall is stunning.

We have a lovely meeting in the Lord Mayor's parlour.

Lord Mayor Black is doing wonderful work in promoting the creative arts in Belfast.

The Lord Mayor tells us about the significance of the Lord Mayors chain.

It weights a lot! Almost 5kg!

She gives Sandra from Austria the privilege to try it on.

Robert has the honour of being Lord Mayor for one minute!

A picture in front of the beautiful City Hall.

In the afternoon we pay a vist to the botanic gardens.

And then it's time to give our Peace Run Van some TLC before we sail to Scotland. We give it a good clean inside and out.

A heartfelt thank you to Helen, the owner of Bo Tree Thai Restaurant, for sponsoring our interntional team with an incredibly delicious meal.

Bo Tree prepared an amazing selection of dishes with the freshest ingredients. We savoured every bit of it!

A huge thank you to Stena Line Ferries for sponsoring our Ferry journeys from Wales to Rosslare and from Belfast to Cairnryan. We are extremely grateful for your generosity and support in getting our international Peace Run Team and Van from country to country.
