Peace Run is very excited to celebrate the 49th Annual Cape Verdean Independence Day Festival at Roger Williams Park in Providence, Rhode Island.   Minister of Communities of Cabo Verde Jorge Santos holds the peace torch and is joined by Consulate General of Cabo Verde Octavio Gomes.

We are so grateful to the Cape Verdean Heritage Subcommittee members and volunteers for their continued service in sharing the rich cultural heritage and showcasing Cape Verdean history and traditions.

Thank you Ms. Perez from the City of Pawtucket, Pawtucket State Representative Jennifer Stewart, and Councilman Clovis Gregor and Benjamin Evans for joining the Peace Run.

Lt. Governor of Rhode Island Sabina Matos holds the torch with Sharika Xavier and shares her hopes for peace.
