Peace Run members from Heidelberg, Germany just sent these lovely photos to us. They created these beautiful origami peace cranes commemorating 75 years since the drop of atom bombs in Hiroshima and Nagasaki (August 6 and 9 respectively).
今年は広島と長崎に原爆が投下されてから75年目に当たります。広島と長崎、そして世界の平和を願い、ドイツ、ハイデルベルグのピースランメンバーの皆さんが、折り鶴を折って下さいました。
三密を上手に避けつつ、たくさん折って下さったようです。

The Heiledberg Peace Run members then put the cranes on the Buddha statue at their Ethnological Museum in Heidelberg.
そのあとメンバーの皆さんはハイデルベルグの民族博物館へ出向き、日本にちなんで仏像の前に折り鶴を飾って下さいました。
Opposite the Buddha statue in the museum is the Peace Tree that was planted in 2001 at a local Peace Run event there with the current Mayor of Heidelberg.
同じく博物館内には、この仏像の真向かいに、2001年にシュリチンモイ・ワンネスホーム・ピースランが寄贈した平和の樹とプレートがあります。現ハイデルベルグ市長が植樹してくださったそうです。平和を願う心は世界共通です。

Over the years, both Hiroshima and Nagasaki cities have been extremely kind and have warmly and enthusiastically welcomed the Peace Run team a number of times. Their yearning and determination to establish and sustain peace is definitely much firmer and stronger than any other cities we have visited in Japan, very understandably.
Here is the video of the opening ceremony at Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park in 2010, as the launch of Asia Peace Run, which connected cities and countries from Hiroshima to Moscow that year for the first time.
ピースラン・ジャパンはこれまで何度も広島・長崎両市を訪れピースランのイベントを行わせていただきました。自治体としてだけでなく、報道各社、学校関係者、市民ランナーの皆さんなど、出会った方全てから、平和な世界を希求する強い想いを感じました。これまでも、そしてこれからも平和な世界を夢見て前進しようという想いは一緒です。共に歩んでいきましょう。

And here is the video from the Nagasaki closing ceremony (of the Japan leg) a week later. The team ran from Hiroshima to Nagasaki, and the relay continued onto Korea, to be finished in Moscow in 4 months time. Yasuko, a renowned taiko drummer offered her prayer for peace with her solo performance.
そしてこちらは１週間後に長崎平和記念公園で行われた、日本コースの閉会式の模様です。長崎市、子供さん、市民ランナーの皆さん、そして特別出演してくださった太鼓奏者のヤスコさん、たくさんの方の想いが集まり実現した素敵な1日でした。
The Founder of the Peace Run Sri Chinmoy had a very special feeling about Hiroshima and visited there four times during his lifetime, offering a Peace Concert three times.
