Today we had our first free day since we began on April 19th, and to make the most of it we visited the beautiful Blue Spring State Park in Central Florida!
The weather was perfect...
The springs are a popualr destination for those of us who love the water!
And that means a lot more than just people...spot the turtle bathing in the sun...
The river is also home to multifarious varieties of large and small fish.
Many varieties of beautiful migratory birds all appear to have found their destination of paradise.
Even the basking alligators here seem peaceful amidst the overpowering tranquility of the surroundings!
Spotting alligators is a never tiring delight for all who visit!
Sadly for us the 200+ resident manatee left their winter refuge back in April. One can easily imagine how happy they would be here!
Dennis got creative underwater...
These pictures are of the underwater cave where the spring water seemingly magically appears from.
Blue Spring is a first magnitude spring that discharges 104 million gallons of water daily into the St Johns river.
Swimming in the year round warm 72 degree water is a lot of fun!
The water is very clear, making this a popular destination for snorkelling and diving.
Local Orlando Peace Run Coordinator, David Morrison, very generously packed a picnic lunch for the team and met us in the park.
Sarvodaya, Dennis and David after we ate all the lunch...Thank you David!
Our trusty Peace Run vehicles also had some rest in the sun today ;)
Natures nurturing beauty at her finest!
Please send us a message, we'd LOVE to hear from you.
