Saint Louis, MO

Reported by Vera Sevastiyanova

We are welcomed to Saint Louis, Missouri.

We were charmed by the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial and its famous gateway arch, an iconic monument that symbolizes the westward expansion in the United States.

People in Saint Louis making their wishes for peace.

Our first ceremony was at the The French School, where school subjects are taught in French. Dennis used the advantage of his ability to fluently speak 5 languages and began the ceremony in French.

Enthusiastic children learning the World Harmony Run song with us.

We presented the Certificate of Appreciation and Jharna Kala painting to the head of the school, Conrad Wildsmith.

We were excited to have our next ceremony with the Harmony Circus at the City Museum.

The city museum is an ultimate childrens museum of interactive exhibits with everything that you can possibly imagine.

Jessica Hentoff, the artistic director of the Harmony Circus leads the way through the museum.

Our wonderful audience at the Harmony Circus.

The Harmony Circus students Kellin and Chuncey took the stage and mesmerized us with their performnce!

We expressed our deepest appreciation for the Harmony Circus and also presented them with a painting fittingly entitled 'World Harmony' by Sri Chinmoy.

Our team with the largest pencil in the world, which was made for Sri Chinmoy's 76th birthday in 2007 and is now exhibited in the City Museum.

We went on a tour around the City Museum where we had a lot of fun!

We climbed up to the aiplane.

We climbed even higher.

We went down a few slides (and some of us did scream!). Lots of FUN!

Off to the next ceremony!

We visited the Vedanta Society, where we had the privillege to enjoy a most deligthful meeting with Swami Chetananda.

We felt so privileged to spend some time with Swami Chetananda - a universal heart-lover of all people and religions, writer of extensive writings on Sri Ramakrishna and Vivekananda, a true spiritual being full of light and love.

Some of the books written by Swami Chetananda.

Swami Chetananda with Pope John Paul II.

Some of us bought books by Swami Chetananda which he personally signed for us.

We are very grateful to Swami Chetananda for taking part in our Peace Run.

Our last ceremony of the day was at a Track Meet at Crestview Middle School.

Children at the Track meet running a lap with the Peace torch.

We presented our certificate of appreciation to Chris Conway, who holds our peace torch in the group photo.

Representatives from Hersheys were volunteer timers at the track meet for the day and were keen to make their own wishes for peace!

We stayed and watched the beginning of the Track Meet.

Back to our accommodation at the Shrine Hotel, which has beautiful statues of Mother Mary.
