Beverly Hills

Today we joined Beverly Hills Mayor, Lili Bosse, in her weekly community walk.

Every Monday morning, Mayor Bosse greets the community in front of Beverly Hills City Hall to share their thoughts and issues they may have and invites them to walk with her to bring the awareness of healthy living by exercising.

Sponsored by #BHHealthyCity, we began with some warm up exercises with around 50 other enthusiastic walkers.

Afterwards, mayor Bosse invited new walkers to the front and share their names and where we were from. When it was our turn, Bigalita said she was from LA, Mananya from Boston and when it was my turn, I shared with the walkers a little about the Peace Run, founded by Sri Chinmoy since 1987 and how we ran in over 140 countries around the world with the message that peace begins with each individual and by passing the torch, it’s a symbol of how we spread peace from person to person, to the community, the city and to the world at large.

We were honored to be in Beverly Hills sharing this message with their city and I thanked Mayor Bosse for her dedication and inspiration for bringing the awareness for a healthier city through exercise. Mayor Bosse held the torch and congratulated us in our efforts for world peace.

After we all shared our names, we began our 3 mile walk. People were eager to hold the peace torch and made their own wishes for world peace.

The first stop during the walk, was Hotel Mosaic where we were greeted by General Manager, Gnell Abracosa, who held the peace torch to make her own wish for world peace. The hotel had water and fresh fruit kabobs to share with the walkers. Thank you!

Later on, we continued our walk to the second and last stop which was a very nice restaurant in the heart of Beverly Hills called The Palm, where owner Bruce Bosse, welcomed the walkers and shared a little about the history of the restaurant. The restaurant had water and coffee for the walkers, as well as delicious Greek yogurt with fresh berries and granola. We thank him for his kindness and he held the torch to make his own wish for a better world.

After visiting The Palm, we finished our walk at Beverly Hills City Hall where we started. Mayor Bosse thanked everyone for joining her during the walk.

We would like to thank the city of Beverly Hills, Mayor Bosse and people who walked that morning for their enthusiasm and heart felt welcome to the Peace Run. It can’t think of a better way to start this special day: My birthday!
