May 4, 2016 Live from the road

Tampa Bay - Ft. Walton Beach

Reported by Arpan DeAngelo

Today we had a day off of sorts. No ceremonies or running but lots of driving to get back to our scheduled itinerary and running course.
Luckily we were able to be nourished once again by our good friends at Consciousness-Blossoms Restaurant.

Tilvila, our good friend who arranged all of our events yesterday, also worked very hard for many days making sure we were well fed.

Tavishi, one of our Australian runners, helped to put together a great bag lunch.

In the restaurant were some very inspiring drawings fo peace and joy from some of the school children.

A very meaningful aphorism from Sri Chinmoy, the Founder of the Peace Run.

We had to load up the vehicles to hit the road for a long drive through the 'panhandle' of northwest Florida.

Our trusty R.V. (Recreational Vehicle), was ready for the long ride.

Halfway through the trip one of the tires went flat. Luckily we got it fixed quickly and we were back on the road again.

Sarankhuu, our Mongolian runner, was ready for the long, sunny ride.

After such a long drive some of us started seeing double.

But the trip was well worth it as we got to stay at the Best Western of Ft. Walton Beach situated directly on the Gulf of Mexico.

The sand was almost pure white and the water was blue, clean and warm.

After a swim in the ocean we took a quick dip in the pool.

We are very grateful to the Best Western for their offering of rooms for our whole team. Alex, one of the maintenance men there for many years has greeted us there.

Alex enjoys a short run with the Peace Torch.

We also were treated to a great meal at Mama Nu's Restaurant in Ft. Walton Beach.

The happily fed team with Mama Nu and Papa Bill whose Thai style food was very delicious.

We are very grateful to Mama Nu and Papa Bill, as they wished us to call them, for their kind offering of really good food for the whole team tonight. Also their sweetness and oneness will never be forgotten.

Sri Chinmoy's beautiful artwork decorates these colorful cards we give to everyone we see in the hope that it may inspire them to feel the good qualities inside themselves and share these qualities with the people around them. We have found so many people in the U.S.A. so far that really embody and try to manifest some of this goodness, such as Compassion, as reperesented here in these cards.
