Our day begins at Verdenskortet in Klejtrup where we are greeted by a very friendly dog

Verdenskortet is a map of the world made from rocks in a lake. You need to go up the tower to get a good birds eye view

It was created by Søren Poulsen who was born in 1888.

In 1943 when the surrounding meadows on his land had to be drained, his yachting harbour dried up. As it dried up a stone, which looked very much like Jutland (one of the main islands of Denmark), appeared. This gave him the idea to build a world of his own.

The task took him 25 years to complete, which he did at the age of 80! The torch is here held by the uncle of Tomas Anadya, Sven Eskildsen (89), who lives in Klejtrup.

Faklen bliver her holdt af Tomas Anadyas onkel, Sven Eskildsen (89), som bor i Klejtrup.

Harita .... in far off New Zealand

Harita .... langt væk i New Zealand

A flag for each country marks its location - except Portugal. The Portuguese flag was stolen by a reveller after Portugal won the Euro Final Football recently.

There are beautiful lotuses adorning the lake where Antartica would be

Question: Which flag is Shyamala pointing to? (Answer under the photo below)

Spørgsmål: Hvilket flag peger Shyamala på? (Svaret står under nedenstående billede)

Harita has recently been on the North American Peace Run. Shyamala was pointing to the flag of Greenland in the picture above.

We now run north towards the north west coast of Jutland

As we are running a TV news crew happen to spot us. They film us and interview our Danish coordinater Tomas Anadya and his daughter Madhurima Iris. The piece appears later the same day in the 19.30 news on TV 2 Nord. Here is a link to the clip: https://youtu.be/Swq6VJh6QUk

There is quite a headwind as we run north

Our final stretch for the day is 18k along the beach from Blokhus to Løkken

Amazingly, vehicles can drive along the beach. We are very impressed by the level of social responsibility in Denmark. The beaches are very clean and everybody drives safely.

Cue Chariots of Fire music!

There is a good wind and the North Sea cheers us on our way

The life guards hold the torch

Livredderne holdt også faklen

There is nothing like ocean water for soothing the tired muscles
