Our day started with a big thank you to the Red Roof Inn for hosting the men's team
Many thanks as well to the Clarion Inn for hosting the women's team. David and Abdul made us very welcome from the moment we arrived.
Tavishi was hit with rain from the very beginning of her run and it became a theme for the whole day.
Mayor Jack Reed and over 30 people welcomed us to the charming town of Marshall as the women's team arrived in town. The Mayor made a great heartfelt speech and reminded everyone present that even in a quiet town it's important to foster peace and a feeling of oneness. With all the recent tragedies in the last few months, it's important to remember that we all need to take an active part in transforming the world because we are all connected and responsible.
It was a pleasure meeting so many of the local residents even though it was a rainy day.
The team was honored to be able to offer the Mayor a painting by Sri Chinmoy for the City Hall.
The centerpiece of the town was this beautiful fountain.
The local residents took a moment to make a prayer for peace.
We had some great members of the Michigan Police Force to guide us through town.
City Councilman Michael McNeil lead our team through the town he loves.
We were so grateful to Schuler's Restaurant for offering the whole team a great lunch.
Sue Damron, President and Managing Partner, took a moment to meet the team outside the restaurant.
These guys were delivering a barn to a house a few miles down the road. Pierre caught up with them as they were unloading.
The heavens opened up and blessed us all.
Yatkara loved running in the rain.
Tonight we said farewell to Niko. He has been a great team member, full of inspiration, energy and youthfulness.
Our Michigan coordinator, Kapila Castoldi, has done a fantastic job organizing all of the ceremonies in this great state. We are very grateful that she offered the team an amazing meal at an Italian Restaurant in Chelsea. It was a true celebration of her Italian origins.
