We started today with a meeting at Safety Harbor City Hall. Tampa Peace Run organizer Tilvila Hurwit is joined by Commissioner Andy Steingold, Commissioner Nancy Besore, Mayor Joe Ayoub holding the Torch, Commissioner Cliff Metz, Commissioner Carlos Diaz and Peace Run organizer Savadhan Steele.
Tilvila is presented with a proclamation declaring Sri Chinmoy Oneness Home Peace Run day in Safety Harbor.
Commissioner Guido Mariscalco giving Tilvila a Commendation from City of Tampa, signed by Mayor Jane Castor and all the commissioners.
Lisa Edwards, the executive assistant of Commissioner Mariscalco holds the torch.
We moved on to the Montessori Academy of Tampa Bay. The school Principal, Miss Mayala was eager to have the kids in her wonderful school experience the Peace Run.
Savadhan led the students in an exercise to feel peace and love in their hearts and spread it around the world. The students also enthusiastically joined in singing the World Harmony Run song with actions.
Shown here are Miss Lourdes, the Lead Elementary teacher who organized the event with much enthusiasm, Mr Jordan, music teacher and Alexis, the office administrator.
Next stop was at the after school program at the Mattie Williams Family Center in Safety Harbor.
Everyone had the chance to hold the Peace Torch and make their wish for Peace.
We offered one of Sri Chinmoys paintings as a token of our gratitude for your participation in the Peace Run.
Our last event of the day was at the Wood Haven Boys and Girls club in Clearwater. Coach Brian received a "Happiness" painting by Sri Chinmoy, founder of the Peace Run. Richard Gotinez is holding the Peace Torch here.
After our presentation and singing the Peace Run songs we passed the Peace Torch for everyone to make a wish.
At the end of the day we shared the Peace Torch with Tilvila's neighbours. They are a very sweet Romanian family who were extremely eager to hold the Peace Torch. Thank You for your enthusaism, it was a great way to end a full day of wonderful events.
