The girls team starts the day in a Pittsfield rainstorm. We hope the rain lets up. Maybe, but not before everyone is completely soaked. It is warm rain though, a nice way to start the day.

The second half of the womens team gets a great send off from out Massechusetts host and coordinator Tilvila Hurwit. She made sure we all felt very welcome. Everyone would have liked to stay an extra day.

Rupasi made some new friends in Jen and Connor of Williamstown, MA just before making running into Vermont.

The team was very grateful to receive such a warm welcome from Reverend Mark Blank and David Haley was of the Second Congregational Church of Bennington.

And we really enjoyed the after service gathering and camaraderie both inside and out at the Peace Pole.

And thank you to Marsh and the Peace and Justice Center of Bennington for your enthusiasm and encouragement. We are better for knowing you.

Meanwhile the womens team went grocery shopping and met Ron, a very kind and generous peace lover. He saw one of the mens team members carrying the torch through Bennington, then kindly bought the groceries for our evening meal when he met us in the grocery store line. Ron and his wife Cathy parked just next to our RV. 'Pay it Forward' was Cathy's thought when we asked her about Ron's generosity.
