As soon as we approached the school, we were greeted by Terri Little, the School Principal and longtime dear friend of the Peace Run!

Many of the students who graduated had already left but we met some of the parents and teachers to whom we passed the torch.

Terri Little (left) and Kim Bergel, Mayor of Eureka (right) are holding the torch together. Kim used to teach with Terri at Redwoods Elementary, so both of them have supported and run with The Peace Run many times!

Both Terri and Kim shared heartfelt words about how we need peace first within ourselves, only then can we spread it to our community.

Kim Bergel reads the aphorism on the Certificate of Appreciation which she accepted on behalf of the City of Eureka.

Both of these remarkable women are role models for the community. They serve with all their hearts and souls and are a true inspiration to all of us.

We were fortunate to have 4 different local media representatives come out to interview us and are very grateful for their support. Pictured is Savana Robinson from Redwood News interviewing Harita and here is the story.

Bob Doran, a reporter and a radio interviewer from Humboldt radio came out and also interviewed Salil live on radio!

It was awesome to have both of them with us for quite some distance, we covered at least 2.5 miles together.

And not only did we run, we also got to hear more inspirational stories from their youth and how they got into running.

And then we are off to some more beautiful coastal scenery - we were running towards a town called Trinidad - which did resemble the tropical country of the same name.

The sky presented us with a beautiful sight - a real halo around the sun- another great opportunity for more photos :)

After the coastal run, we ran through more redwoods. Such a combination of nature elements is perfect for running.

We came upon the Yurok Reservation Welcome Centre and were warmly welcomed by Princess, who gave us a tip on where the nice beaches are - and we happily accepted the advice.
