Anderson, South Carolina - Athens, Georgia

Reported by Arpan DeAngelo 68.0 mi

Our first event for the day was a 5K run in the town of Anderson, South Carolina.

Although we pass by many cows on our daily runs, this was the first time we were able to pass the Peace Torch to some very interested cows.

Some members of our team ran the whole race sharing the Torch with others during the race.

Volunteers along the way also enjoyed sharing the Torch.

After the race many people offered their wishes for peace.

Malena holds the Torch with her sister and mom. She wore a batman cape the during the race which probably helped her to beat her older sister.

After the race we went to run our planned route into Georgia.

This curious cat seemed quite interested in our event when we stopped to wait for one runner.

There were also two cyclists who stopped to greet us during their journey through the area.

At the end of his run Vrishaketu greeted the real cows but they would not hold the Torch this time.

Dr. Robin Koenig shares the Torch with our women's team. She very kindly worked on Rupasi after she had fallen and injured herself. Robin offered her services for over an hour with no fee. We are very grateful for her oneness and her heartfelt contribution to the Peace Run in terms of much needed medical attention.

The men's team finshed their morning run to Bowman and met the other teams for lunch and an exchange of vehicles.

Moving in to the RV for the afternoon.

Valerie, a New Yorker visiting in Bowman, stops to share the Torch offering her kind words and good will.

Other peace lovers along the way share the Peace Torch and offer their wishes and good will as well.

Nicolaus and Arpan in front of the Georgia Guidestones, a very interesting formation of granite stones with some words of wisdom for future generations.

Stopping to get one of our vehicles checked out, we met a very nice mechanic and his friend who cheerfully shared the Torch with us and inspected our car without charge.

A scenic and peaceful run for Natabara on the way to Georgia.

The grass hides another curious spectator.

Greeting the cows at the end of his journey as well.

At the end of the day we were warmly greeted by Dan and Kate Everett who kindly hosted us for the night at their wonderful home, complete with a large, healthy vegetabe garden.

Joey, their beautiful dog, peacefully enjoys some of the music as he keeps Nicolaus company.

Please send us a message, we would LOVE to hear from you.

Dan and Kate also self-givingly offered us the use of their kitchen as Vrishaketu was our master chef for the evening. Needless to say Kate and Dan offered their assistance and encouragement the whole evening.
