On Saturday 5th September, in the always beautiful setting of Forte dei Marmi and Massa, the Peace Run torch was the guest of a unique event for Peace: "The Walk of Peace", the longest work of art in the world by 5.31 km by the hand of a single artist, surpassing the current record of 3.3 km made in the USA.
The young and talented artist "Dale" conceived and carried out this beautiful project as an artistic act for Peace.
A tangible experience of optimism and hope for the future through the colors of peace. The theme is represented by fifty rainbows that follow one another to spread peace and hope, empathy and diversity, environmental sustainability, and trust towards the future.
Dale describes the work as follows:
"The rainbow always leaves us with that pleasant sensation of wonder and amazement - says Dale - amazement and lightness that populate the work through graceful butterflies that flutter between meadows and oceans of color."
The design and construction of the work required five months of work and was sponsored by the Tuscany Region and the Municipalities of Forte dei Marmi, Montignoso, and Massa. "
The godfather of the initiative was goalkeeper Gigi Buffon, world champion, who sent a beautiful and touching video message in support of the initiative for the occasion.
The Peace Run torch traveled the length of 5.3 kilometers, carried by the Italian hockey champion athletes of the Forte dei Marmi Hockey Club.
The event was organized in collaboration with the association I Colori per la Pace di Sant'Anna di Stazzema, friends, and partners of Peace Run in various projects.
Sabato 5 settembre, nella sempre bellissima cornice di Forte dei Marmi e di Massa, la fiaccola della Peace Run è stata ospite di un evento unico per la Pace: “The Walk of Peace”, l’opera d’arte più lunga del mondo di ben 5,310 Km per mano di un singolo artista, superando il record attuale di 3,3 Km realizzato negli USA.
Il giovane e talentuoso artista “Dale” ha ideato e realizzato questo bellissimo progetto quale atto artistico per la Pace.
Un’esperienza tangibile di ottimismo e speranza verso il futuro attraverso i colori della pace. Il tema è rappresentato da cinquanta arcobaleni che si susseguono per diffondere pace e speranza, empatia e diversità, sostenibilità ambientale e fiducia verso il futuro.
Dale così descrive l’opera:
“L’arcobaleno, ci lascia sempre quella sensazione piacevole di meraviglia e stupore – racconta Dale – stupore e leggerezza che popolano l’opera attraverso delle leggiadre farfalle che volteggiano tra prati e oceani di colore.”
La progettazione e la realizzazione dell’opera hanno richiesto cinque mesi di lavoro ed ha avuto il patrocinio della Regione Toscana e dei Comuni di Forte dei Marmi, Montignoso e Massa.”
Padrino dell’iniziativa il portiere Gigi Buffon campione del mondo, che per l’occasione ha inviato un bellissimo e toccante videomessaggio in supporto dell’iniziativa.
La fiaccola della Peace Run ha percorso la lunghezza di 5,3 chilometri, portata dagli atleti campioni italiani di hockey su pista, del Club Hockey Forte dei Marmi.
L’evento è stato realizzato in collaborazione con l’associazione I Colori per la Pace di Sant’Anna di Stazzema, amici e partner di Peace Run in diversi progetti.

At the end of the day the torch makes a stop at MarguttianArte, an art exhibition in Forte dei Marmi founded as early as 1962.
