Scobey - Plentywood

Reported by Hastakamala Diaz 59.0 mi

We said thank you to the super friendly staff at Smoke Creek Inn. They kindly hosted the team for the night. It was nice to hear stories about their families and life in and around the town of Scobey.

Back on the road again and the vast pastures of farmland stretch out once again.

"R" hill.

The local Chief Deputy Sheriff Scott Nelsen stops to say hi, offer us water.

Some of the team met Ken Simon (left) Commander of American Legion Department of Montana and Sheriff of the County, Lonnie Johnson (right) who is also State Commander of VFW.

Ken Simon was very interested in the peace run and told us his son is running the local radio station. He got in contact with his son, Greg, and set up an interview for later in the day.

The "Copper Cup" is a super excellent place to come and get a superb cup of coffee in a relaxing atmosphere. Dakota has been running the cafe now for a year plus with her new baby. If your stopping in the town of Plentywood check out the "Copper cup".

Entering the KATQ radio station for our interview.

Positive sayings adorned the walls.

This is Greg Simon, Ken's son, who runs KATQ radio. Here is telling us all about local history.

Even with the short notice Greg had read up about the peace run and put together insightful questions. Plus he interviewed the whole team together.

We all had big smiles at the end of a very memorable and heartfelt meeting. Thank you Greg we all enjoyed the experience.
